Prologue
Scattered silence remained predominant in the town of Lenor. Rain pattered onto the ground, dampening it and creating an eerie mist that dispersed through the air. It was chilly; the breath of the people lingered in the atmosphere after every puff. Eyes darted left and right and forms shifted back and forth as if waiting or watching for something. Children were held close to their parents.
Headlights broke out through the mist. A black car with tinted windows wove through the town roads. The driver drove without moving his eyesight off of the path, focused on his destination and nothing more.
“She’s the new prodigy that they found...” Voices chanted throughout that moment in hushed whispers. “That little Alice girl...they say she had a gift. I’m glad they’re taking her off of the streets. Her parents must be so ashamed.”
More children grasped onto their parents’ side. In the end, only scowls and agreeing nods were exchanged as the black car drove past them.
The vehicle soon vanished into the darkness of night.
A little girl remained huddled in the back seat, a piece of cloth wrapped around her eyes, wrists, and ankles. She whimpered in fear; she had no idea where she was being driven. All she remembered was telling her parents of a man she saw that she did not recognize.
When she arrived, a building stood in the distance, shrouded in mist and a thin curtain of rain. Out of one of the small windows, a lip, dotted with a single mole, curved the slightest bit upwards until it vanished into nothing.
Before she was aware of anything else, the ties were roughly tugged loose from her hands and feet. Alice was then yanked out of the car. She stumbled forwards a bit until her blindfold was pulled away. She clenched her eyes shut and then slowly peeked up towards the ominous building before her. “Wh...Where am I?” She inquired with uncertainty.
Before the driver could respond, the gates to the building creaked open.
A crooked sign read, “Welcome to Lenor Asylum.”
I. Welcome to Lenor Asylum
Alice is a normal ten-year-old girl who lives with two loving parents. But upon finding out from her teachers that she's been drawing a mysterious man, they are forced to give her up to the asylum. Once there, Alice meets her caretaker, a young woman named Katherine Morgan. She also meets Emily and Hannah, two girls eager to make her first night at the asylum an exciting one.
II. Room 136
After being dared to spend the night in the infamous Room 136, Alice discovers that there is a ghost lurking nearby. A close encounter with an unknown being proves to be quite frightful to Alice, but she realizes that there is more to this ghost than meets the eye.
III. Meeting the Terror
Katherine slowly becomes aware of the dark events happening around the asylum after she is sent to town to replace the chef's butcher knives. Sipiyu has a close encounter with Chef Douglas, and that night Alice is separated from Emily and Hannah during one of their adventures. Sipiyu shows and fights off the ghouls using an item Alice once saw during her encounter with Sipiyu in Room 136. He explains its significance, but upon closer inspection, the item seems much more horrific than Alice suspected.
IV. The Council
The Council, an important group of people who overlook the activities of the asylum, come to meet and discuss the current situation involving Alice and the ghost. Alice, in the meantime, comes down with a small cold and leaves Hannah and Emily to adventure on their own, but deep within the depths of an unknown place exists an even darker being who seems to be pulling the strings behind the events happening at the asylum.
V. The Newest Addition
Meet DeAundre, the newest child prodigy to come to Lenor Asylum. More information regarding Sipiyu is revealed while Emily and Hannah unexpectedly join Ian and DeAundre in the hallways. They encounter a deadly group of ghouls. Will help arrive in time?
VI. DeAundre's Inquisition
After a dangerous close encounter, the girls are left to reflect on their actions. Alice meets with Katherine Morgan and reveals to her what has happened so far; Sipiyu is paid a visit by his dark friend, Veyerus, who lays down a threat that leaves Sipiyu uneasy. The girls, Ian, DeAundre, and their caretakers spend a moment outside to discuss the past events and the actions the Council is taking. Alice and the girls use the bath time to relax, but in the steam...
